Do you think that someone from the military would make a good president?

One who abides by the rules to a T. Howe come military men never become presidents?

    Have you forgotten George Washington? Dwight Eisenhower? Ulysses S. Grant? Andrew Jackson? There are many others as well.

    In the present day we only have one president.  If you want to ask about present-day leaders, ask that way.  I'm trying to help.  I know you aren't American.

    Not all Presidents are of the USA. There are roughly about 70 countries in the world who have a President.

    Washington used the military against veterans who were peacefully assembled asking for their back pay.

    Grant's administration was infamous for corruption.

    Andrew Jackson signed the "Indian Removal Policy", which resulted in the "Trail of Tears" and decades of mistreatment of indigenous peoples (which continues to this day).

    Truman to George W. were in the military...with the exception of Clinton. Obama and trump were not. There were numerous others before them. There have been good and mediocre. Their Military service may have given them a better perspective of homeland and world affairs. And they all were honourable. I am taking a guess that you are not from the US.

    Most of the US Presidents do have military backgrounds. 
    Globally Israeli PM Netanyahu also has a military background. I am sure there are more.

    *HOW come. Lots of presidents have had military backgrounds, including, most recently, Bushes 41 and 43. Perhaps you should brush up on both your spelling and history.

    I understand you are not American but, please, be smart enough not to ask the question you have asked here.  You might have asked which American Presidents had been in the military.  We will eat you alive with questions like this.  This is an American site.  There are people from all over.

    Eisenhower was the best president America ever had because he spent nearly all his time in hospitals. He demonstrated that the country doesn't really need a president.

    BTW the US government has shut down 18 times since 1976, for periods up to three weeks. (Due to budget problems.) You never noticed, did you?

    Of course we noticed. Why would you think otherwise? And while Ike was a good president IMO, it was because of what he did - the interstate highway system, for example - not because of absenteeism. On what planet did you come up with that idea?     I never noticed.
    Didn't affect my daily life one iota, that I recall.
    I still had to go to work, pay my taxes, pay my bills, had local government working (police, fire, etc).
    The military kept chugging along.

    I believe he meant "noticed" as ... it affected your daily life.
    Which, as I explained, it didn't affect mine in any way I noticed.
    Even benefit payments went out on time, as far as I recall.

    An ideal candidate. Such a qualification has been proven effective in some countries. Expertise in the security issue is  the platform of the government.
