I used to work with a Hatfield who was from West Virginia. He said he was related to the feuders. I looked up some photos of the original Hatfields and this guy sure did look like them.
There was a series on the History Channel a couple of years ago about the feud. It was really interesting. Whatever the original problem was didn't matter and might have even been forgotten. It seemed to be tradition that it was an obligation to continue the feud forward. Thank you for your reply bh! :)
