Discussion»Questions»Business» Cry me a river about the sad state of Corporations. The Stock Market is at an alltime high. Whom do you think is making all that money?
The stock market is not owned by some elite group. Most of it is ordinary people's investments and pension funds.
It's us that profit when markets do well and it's us that suffer when markets do badly. It's us that benefit indirectly through job creation and opportunity when it's doing well.
Elites couldn't care less whether markets go up or down. If they think it's going to go down they just sell the market short, get back in cheap at the bottom, and ride it right back up again. The most powerful players love an economic depression because they know they can survive but their small competitors can't. When the dust settles they increase their market share and come back stronger than ever.
