My first answer to this did not post.

I don't become hysterical as such but have been times I have become so plugged in to what I perceived as sudden and unexpected betrayal or dishonesty and reacted hastily and badly without seeing the total picture.  And I had to get out and walk around and collect my thoughts and calm down to get back to normal.

I did get hysterical a couple of times when I was much younger and far more emotional. It is not a good feeling to be out of control. It is frightening. But I grew up out of that many decades ago and now? I can detach myself from anything and become stoic. Once you get the hang of it it is automatic. Thank you for your reply officegirl! :)

Once I lost control and snapped out of it when I should have gone hysterical.
