How many years have you been a member of an internet social site? How many thousands of different people do you think you've talked to?

I joined Answerbag in February 2005 and switched o Answermug when Answerbag died. That's a lotta time and a lotta folks. Thousands for sure. I've asked lots of questions too. I have no idea how many I've asked over those years. None. Do you know how many questions you've asked and approximately how many folks you've met while you been on the internet social site circuit?

This  and AB are the only social sites I have been to. And...as you, I have asked thousands of questions and answered thousands more. I never counted how many folks I have talked to. Not important to know.

Welcome to Answermug Ebonyeye! I'm an OLD hand at it. In February 2005 I jointed a site called Answerbag. It folded a couple of years ago so here I am. Someone bought it and brought it back to life but I decided to stay here. I hope folks are polite to you and that you are polite to them. You may encounter some whose views are different than yours but that's part of the fun. As long as you are polite you'll be fine. If others aren't polite to you I would just ignore them. That's what I do. It's not worth wasting time on people who can't disagree agreeably! Just my opinion. Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday!  :)

I was part of Microsoft Beta Q&A site back in 2003 called Q&As. It folded because they ran it like a communist country. I dont know how many times people got banished from the site for saying something that the mediators didnt agree with. Then I came to Answerbag in 2008, and when it folded, came here to Answermug. I cant count how many questions and answers, or people Ive met. I only know its a lot.

Thank you for your reply cp and Happy Friday to thee. I saw you on  AB  but I don't think we communicated a lot there. I wonder how many internet social sites there are?  I'm gonna ask. :)

Facebook the longest (2007) but I don't post there. AB from 2008....AM whenever AB died. (Dec 2015)
I was on a couple other but not long....Blurtit, Fluther (sp), Amirite. This post was edited by my2cents at November 3, 2017 2:45 AM MDT

I know nothing about Facebook except that 2 billion people belong to it. If you don't post there what's the point of being there m2c?  How did you like Blurtit/Fluther/Amirite? I had heard of Fluther but never visited any other sites. My son invited me to check AB and then when AB folded Old School told me that  a couple of folks on AM were asking about me so I popped on over to see what was up and decided to stay. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to thee! :)

I have family and friends that post there so it keeps me up on family news. Also many post pictures of their children etc. And some live far away so so I would never have the opportunity to see their kids in real life. Also you can play games and if you are logged into Facebook, you can play with your friends on Facebook.

The other q&a sites did not hold my attention. Blurtit seemed to have a lot of teens on it. Amirite I just did not like the setup and it was hard to tell if it was a old or new question. And they have blocking of users which I don't like.  I was blocked by whom I had zero contact with....and they asked political questions that I could but not answer....grrrr.
Just remembered I was on Sean Hanitty forums for a time before AB would have been 2007-8 cause I was supporting Huckabee in the primaries then. But I forgot my login and lost my email so no recovery.
Fluther I just did not care for the setup and people did not seem friendly.  This post was edited by my2cents at November 3, 2017 9:15 AM MDT
