    I love this movie to Shar to the Rona. I cant watch it too many times.  Keona Reeves is icing on the cake too. lol

    Gone Baby Gone left me numb.

    Looking for Mr. Goodbar left me terrified (I was in my 20's)

    Out of Africa still makes my heart hurt

    You know I love Dancer in the Dark and would be proud to say it is my favorite movie.  I have to make Old School watch that with me.

    Gone With The Wind believe it or not.  It was from high-school.  

    Lord of the Flies

    The Exorcist  (early 70's)  and Psycho  (early 60's)

    Sophie's Choice

    Terms of Endearment


    so many more.   All the good ones leave you numb and affected.

    Yes, many on your list would be on mine, too! I forgot about "Looking For Mr.Goodbar!" PLOT SPOILER!!!
    It has one of the most disturbing endings to any film I've seen!
    and "Lord of the Flies!"
    Great choices, my friend!

    P.S. I smiled and truly thought of you when I typed "The Birds." I love the various comments I've seen from you about this movie and how it scares you not in the very least!

    It makes me happy to know how much you like "Dancer in the Dark," too, like I do.

    I've not seen "The Gift."
    I really liked "The Green Mile." The Stephen King book upon which the film is based is really good, too. I really liked reading the book even after seeing the movie -- I almost never enjoy reading the book if I saw the movie first.

    "Grease". Because I was really surprised by how good it was. I watched it for the first time in the late 90's, possibly 99. And I must have watched it every day for the next few weeks because I loved it so much.

    We agree on a lot, righty1 - Sgt at aRMS -- but maybe not on this movie. Ha!

    I really like the music -- but when I watched it I was at an age where I picked up on what I thought the moral was -- "Give up all your principles and morals and become a slut."
    :)
    I know I'm WAY in the minority on this. And I've only seen the movie once; a long time ago. I need to give it another chance - - I respect your opinion too much to sluff the movie off like I used to. Thanks for helping me to "re-think" the movie.

    I liked 'Ordinary People" but could NOT get over the raves over Moore's performance  WHAT PERFORMANCE


    ........she had the EXACT SAME EXPRESSION ON HER FACE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MOVIE.....NO MATTER what the scene, dialogue, etc., and this is acting?

    uh don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    got off  topic, as usual.......lol.....sorry..........

    films that did that for me were "Streetcar Named Desire'............"Rosemary's Baby"..........."Two Women'........yessssss

    but going back for a moment to'non-actors'.......the late Thelma Ritter was another one.......OHHH  how people rave about her.....but she DOES THE EXACT SAME THING IN EVERY MOVIE SHE WAS EVER IN.......same voice, mannerisms, etc.......but they rave about her.


    on the current scene, one I detest is Leah Remini.....AGAIN.......ACTS THE SAME IN EVERY SINGLE THING SHE'S IN.

    even saw her in an early TV performance; she was on a subway.....SAME THING.

    good grief.........but hey, as the old song goes,.........'nice work if you can get it'.........
