If wartime started would you give up your guns if they desperately needed more good steel to build military hardware?

During previous wars people were asked to turn in any un-necessary metals in their possession

No.  My gunmetal is necessary.  I live in a very rural & isolated area.  The only other protection I have is in the form of a yappy little a$$hole yorkie mix named Harry.  He's the backup plan when everything else fails.  Doesn't leave me with much confidence I'll survive.

Yes ok that would be reasonable in your circumstances.
If you shoot a trespasser I am sure there are good recipes for making dog chow using burglar meat. This post was edited by Kittigate at November 11, 2017 9:12 AM MST

How much do you think a little dog eats?  Your scenario will force me to become a cannibal.  I'm only a figurative man eater, not literal.

  • I think the casing materials of all the nuclear warheads and missiles are already provided for, where they sit in the silo

Those are paper mache. Trump sold all the real missiles to ISIS via Russian agents then purchased bogus missiles made in China. There is not even real gun powder in them..
Need all the metals to fight a conventional war. This post was edited by Kittigate at November 11, 2017 8:42 AM MST

  • Hell no. If there was enough wartime shortage of steel in this day and age that some shotguns and rifles mattered then we are SCREWED and whatever comes next, you're going to want them when the dust settles.  It will be over my friend.

  • The real threat is ghettoized radical Muslims (not the nice Muslims don't get me wrong) I'm treading I'm thin ice here. When the force of above mentioned, get strong you'll need your guns at home ... Just a thought. Over here in UK there are no go zones for English people we are attacked and ejected and we don't have the right to bear arms! Its a fearful situation, there will be and have been mob attacks by the radicals and they have more rights than us. A big storm is brewing.
