Because we are all allowed o ask the questions we want provided they stay within the rules here.
Some people enjoy politics, some enjoy other stuff. That's what keeps it interesting. This post was edited by my2cents at November 16, 2017 2:42 PM MST

Are you sure he's talking about people just on this web site?  I actually find that happens in other areas of life and other sites.

When someone asks a political question just to make other people angry, they're trolling.  They troll because doing so gives them a huge chubby.

Huge chuckles over here, Harry!  It's nice of you to give them the benefit-of-the-doubt by "sizing it up" that way ;).  Maybe they are only get a wee tingle?...  ;) This post was edited by Merlin at November 16, 2017 7:43 PM MST

It seems like some political questions are just a regurgitation of some biased news outlet with no real understanding or thought behind them. It's not really about politics, it's about gossip.

If you know that is someone's intention it's best to ignore them.

It's a touchy subject just like religion and discussing one or both will most certainly start some kind of online riot.

I have yet to see any political questions on here that could be correctly categorized as "ignorant."

On the other hand, a disappointing number of the responses to such questions could certainly be categorized that way.

I don't think its necessarily ignorance. People have certain beliefs and feelings and enthusiasms and viewpoints they want to strengthen by broadcasting and so finding others who share theirs as well as arguing or belittling or criticizing other points of view.  Just seems to me if all they do is follow politics they must not have many other things going on in their lives.  I don't care much for politics so when I post on such subjects you know I have not been able to find anyone to discuss sex with on here, or love or human relationships or cooking or gardening or popular culture or serious culture or business or a million other things I am interested in.

  • Well ignorant people tend to obsess and gravitate towards politics.  Politics is one of the shallowest and most base aspects of a person.  That makes it an easy definer and outlet for simple and ignorant people.  They have little else going for them in terms of personality, beliefs, or thoughts.  It's just like religion in that sense and many others.
