    My ears have a bad connection to my brain. My eyes are better.  I guess aging is causing perceptional failures.

    You know aging really doesn't have that much to do with it bh. I mean you can have a group of 10 young adults or middle-aged folks witness a criminal act and you will get 10 different "eyewitness" reports.  Why that is I don't know but in the throes of danger I think your senses get overloaded and see things that aren't there and miss things that are.
