Would you agree that God made man to realize some of his sick twisted fantasies?

Why the hell would he make everything as is?

  • No.   I would have to have faith in such a being to begin with.

He did not. YOU made everything as is and is how we get the term "manmade". This post was edited by O-uknow at November 19, 2017 3:46 PM MST

  • According to the Bible God created everything and knows all.

  • Not according to the Biblical description.  He created everything. Even temptation and evil.  He created the tree of knowledge that spawned evil and and even The Satan.

Evil is a lack in a good---not something created.  You're not going to buy that of course, but it's why some of your basic assumptions upon which you construct your unbelief logically fail.

But I'm not trying to change your mind---it's not me you have to keep convincing.

  • We create our truths. Can open up our own worlds of beauty with the will of our minds eye. Send souls to heavens or hells. Morality is subjective only to us. We can create life and just easily end it.  We are gods.

Isaiah 45:7 reads, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil"

I think that in the context that something like 'calamity' would be a better translation. Of course that doesn't mean that the God of the Bible creates or causes all calamities.
Is 45:7 (NASB) The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the LORD who does all these.
Amos 3:6 (NASB) If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity(KJV Evil) occurs in a city has not the LORD done it? This post was edited by texasescimo at November 24, 2017 10:53 AM MST

Which translations have you compared and which do you find to be the most accurate when compared with a concordance? Also, which concordances do you have or have used on the internet?

  • Tex, you're correct. The word used instead of evil is calamity. You're also correct in saying that GOD doesn't create all calamity. Humans create  most of the calamity found in the world. GOD created this universe perfect but mankind, as usual, thought up ways to foul up, disfigure, and destroy this perfection. The calamity that GOD does create is for a specific purpose. Usually to thwart the calamitous events of certain individuals or groups of people. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 24, 2017 1:15 PM MST

Your, 'YOU made everything as is and is how we get the term man made', would surely include every god ever invented.

Man has done the evil. God made us in His image and gave us the free will to choose.  Many make bad choices.

Aye, agreed but there may be many among us NOT made in his image.

That seems to be part of the problem for many. They can't accept that someone with perfect free will and the ability to use it perfectly wrong could come from the God of the Bible even though He told us as much in His word.

I think no matter how sick and how twisted you think anything is, God happens to know more.

So, why try and act like a stupid child who has never had a thought in his life?  Is this a question you think will stymie God or anyone else on here?

Shakespeare tried this 400 years ago with his plea that life is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

He said it better than you and he still had his head up his bum.

When we are lost and angry, we shake our fists at God.  Now this is WHY GOD is not sick and twisted.  He knows we cannot possibly fathom what He knows.  He blesses anyway.  He gives chances forever.  We are all saved, and it is up to us to figure out how to behave and do good because that is all there is.

There is nothing sick and twisted in God's world.  There is only sickness and twisted in man's mind when he refuses to listen TO God. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 20, 2017 4:02 PM MST

So why did he create man if not for his own selfish reasons?
