What is the purpose of the fleshy part of the human body that we call 'the bum' -did nature provide that just to help make us look sexier?

What if we were flat like cats, dogs and other animals?  We wouldn't look very sexy.

    I believe it helps with bipedal movement, however I am not a biological evolution expert, even though I tell people that is my profession.

    Currently it seems the main function of this piece of anatomy seems to be to catch old men touching it so you can say #MeToo

    Them 'padding' in our bums are actually the bodys biggest and most used muscles (Gluteus Maximus). We use them with every step we take :-))
