    As I understand it it started with the Pilgrims (a group of early colonists) surviving their first winter in the Americas. So they celebrated that with a big dinner, and that became a tradition. This post was edited by JakobA the unAmerican. at November 25, 2017 2:38 AM MST

    I'm always giving thanks to everything and everyone I Havel...I never needed a special day for it....nah,..many outside of US aren't aware of thanksgiving as a festive day!

    Yea, like me who are Danish. As far as I know Americans are the only ones celebrating Thanksgiving.
