Who names their kid Baron?

a member of the lowest order of the British nobility. The term “Baron” is not used as a form of address in Britain, barons usually being referred to as “Lord.”

LORD Trump?  Get a life, Donald.  You have to name your kid a title?

It is a rare name...I agree completely "Nuka".

But actually over 100 people every year name their baby boys Baron for the last decade.

I personally think we should leave the kids out of it.

It doesn't sound so bad My2, until someone who wants to think of himself as a KING starts naming his kids titles like that.

There was a black man who was born in the southern part of the United States and grew up during the time of Jim Crow laws and other types of racism. When he became a father, he named his son "Sir" so that people would address him with a term of respect.

Yes, Randy.  Good story.  I mean it.  I see a completely different INTENT.  Jim Crowe was bestowing it for a much higher reason than Donald Trump.  If you cannot discern the difference, I can explain.

Jim Crowe found a very clever solution to a problem where his beloved son was receiving what he perceived to be a sort-of protection.   He wanted his son to be respected and raised to the level of his peers.  A level he deserved by right of his being a human being.

Now Donald.  He named his son Baron to raise his brat above other people, and it is undeserved.  He wants to protect his NAME and put BARON in front of it.  He is a walking bladder of ego, that one.

This would be funny if you were not inadvertently defending Trump here.

Chelsea is adorable.  People who want an adorable name and are old hippies, made it fashioable.  Hillary was young during that era, thus, Chelsea.

The town in London was named after a woman NAMED Chelsea.   There are tons of states and towns and all manner of landmarks that have women's names.  No big whoop.

Baron is a title.  He named his kid a TITLE so that people would think he WAS Baron Trump.  So, pathetic.  I wonder if the kid's middle name is Von

Now, that is a horse of another color.  Baron in that context is totally fine because you are not trying to pass him off as a King's son.

I'm surprised he didn't call him Baron VON

Right. You love Hillary and loathe Trump. I get that. Be the clear bias as it may, Baron is also a given name:

    http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Baron

pronounced BARE-an. It is of Old German and Old English origin, and the meaning of Baron is "young warrior". A title of nobility, along the lines of Earl and Duke, used as a given name. In England, a baron was the LOWEST rank of hereditary peerage that entitles the holder to serve in the House of Lords. It is rare to find such nobility names in countries where there is an official aristocracy. Also the Hebrew phrase "Bar Aaron", meaning "son of Aaron".--Emphasis mine

Lol...okay.  While Trump may have been wealthy when his son was named, do you believe he already had plans to run for president at that time?

LOL  I do tend to go overboard on all things Trump.   But I have to admit, hearing BARON and Trump describing the same person, kind of nauseates me.

No. I think he had plans to name his baby,  10 years ago that name.  That is his youngest's name and I think the child is about 10.

I realize now that it is a common enough name.  I just glommed onto the meaning when he named his son that name.  It has nothing to do with him being president.  He has planned his BRAND long before any consideration of making himself an ass on the American Political arena.

Baron is cute for a normal boy.  As long as you are not trying to pass him off as a Baron.  Like one Mugger mentioned, Earl is a common enough name too.

I really cannot see Trump trying to pass his son off as a Baron.  I don't see an issue with the name, regardless of who the parents are.
