Yes, my house is readily visible on Google Street View and Google Earth (though in satellite views it's obscured by the oak trees on the property). No, I won't be posting it!
What rattled me was when I got a magazine with a satellite picture of my address on the cover, my house circled, and the caption "We know where you live!"
Yes I have. The unsettling thing was there was a truck parked in the road that we never saw before. We live on a dead end and never have anyone park in the road in front of us. Yikes. ;+
The home I own now is not available on google maps ... my last home was though. I'm off the faaking grid now . I haven't checked in a year though. I'm not going to check then.
I remember the day the damn gogle car cam to map the dirt road. I wanted to open fire on the bastard for mapping a private road but wrongly not allowed to do that anymore.
It has a name that we gave it but that's all. All the Numbered county and local numbered routes around here got mapped and tagged about 5 years ago. It depends on when they decide to finish an area.
They even got the one dirt trail we call Carpenter mapped and that's one of the roughest rural sorta roads around. It's 12 miles through woods and swamp were all the houses and people look like Deliverance meets the Firefly Family.
Ha ... same thing where I live ... all roads named by or for people who have lived here for while... do you have to plow or get your road plowed then too? That's really only thing I miss about living in city.
We have to plow it with trucks and tractors I usually relocate somewhere or rent for winter so it usually ain't me. Yep, our road is named after the old dead guy who was first to live on road year round.
I live in an apartment and not so long ago, I posted my house...atleast part of my house...the front...balcony etc;)) ( took it from our apartment website)
