  • I tested people by posting questions that were all (but one) from books I've read. I wanted to see if anyone recognized a book. Now I have to grade them on a curve. I really confused one person by suggesting rounding off pi on a wheel.

I wondered what that meant but just assumed it was mathy stuff that I just don't know.  But now I know it's from a book.  Was it  the Pi book like the movie Life of Pi.  I didn't see it or read it.

Yes, when I need to.  I have found myself creating a situation because I wanted to know how someone else would react.  I've only done it a few times.  Both times I remember vividly;  I found out that someone didn't measure up to my standard.  Both times I went through a little bit more time with them and it didn't take long to say goodbye.  Both times I lost respect.  When that happens you might as well know you are winding things down.
