Yeah, that's weird, isn't it? You watch a movie expecting to see some nice porn and they suck on strawberries instead. You go to a banquet and they have strawberries dipped in chocolate, and nobody is sure if they want to eat such a thing. But they always serve chocolate strawberries if they are in season.
No....I've never had any kind of food fetish thing though. I could tell you a story about when I was 19ish that involved a fruit and a guy named Paul. It didn't end well and was not a strawberry story:/
I've never given it any thought before, but I'll venture a guess.
The surface of the strawberry loosely resembles the human tongue in feel, what with its bumps and grooves. (Side note: The tiny seeds on the outside of the strawberry are its ovaries, and they are called "achenes".) Since eating a strawberry can resemble your lover's tongue making contact with your tongue, lips and teeth during a sensuous kiss, that might account for its claim on seductiveness. Red denotes love, and the sweetness and juiciness of a strawberry adds to the way it triggers pleasure-centers of the brain.
I'd write more, but all of a sudden I have two things going at once: a craving for strawberries and curiosity as to what my wife might be doing right about now. I'm going to go bug her, but that's after I detour to the kitchen.
There was a beautiful strawberry that tried to seduce me a few years ago but I just did not see her that wey. She looked really good with the whipped cream, but still I just couldn't get it on with a strawberry, it seemed wrong.
The other berries that are red have already been chosen for other things. Red has a seductive and/or impactful meaning in almost every culture. Methink tis related to the reddish hue of blood. Research the timeline of discovery of red berries and put it against the timeline of contemporary thinking.
