    Yeah. If you look at a copy (or photo) of the United States 1869 issue featuring the ship called 'The Adriatic',  the steam engine in the ship was built by one of my ancestors, John Reid.

    Do you remember the U.S. postage stamp with Marilyn Monroe on it? I could never be sure which side of the stamp to lick!

  • I have not. I can see how people get into it, but I doubt I ever will. I keep other collections, though.

    Not really.

    I remember in grade school that for some reason (fundraising, I think) we students were asked to bring canceled stamps in to school.

    One of the other kids asked if he could look through the stamps.  Thank made me curious, so I asked if I could as well.

    I had never paid attention to stamps before, and the different kinds were fascinating (all were 3 cent stamps).  I did follow up and was interested for a while, but soon lost interest.
