Maybe they became friends. : ) Your snake will never eat another rat so just feed him pizza buns.

I don't know how to figure the frequency of their hunger. But at the zoo last year they told us their python had not eaten in like a year, it is a huge one. The largest albino phython in captivity. I do hope you keep it locked up well...I am sure you do. I just worry about little ones. I went to school with a guy whose python ate his baby.
Within the last month, a Ball Python was brought in and treated for bite injuries from a rat.
Turns out the owner put a live rat in for the python to eat and the python wasn't hungry (apparently he only ate about once a month) and the rat ended up attacking him.
The snake healed well after his wounds were cleaned and dressed by the vet.
The vet suggested feeding only dead rats (available frozen, I guess) to prevent a similar problem in the future.
