      1.  When twiddling, begin with left over right.

    After that, I've got nothing.

You must ask yourself.... Did you left thumb make that rule?
When I twiddle, my two start giving each other a "Thumbs Up!"
They feel it shows good sportsmanship and a fair fight wishing each other "good luck."
A thought to ponder as you twiddle ;) ;)

A rule of thumb in England means a husband can't beat his wife with a stick thicker than his thumb.....it's against the law to do so.....

Only Cane was Able to do that......it's ritten in the bible so it must be tru :(D

My thumbs are my career.  If I blow them out? I have no job.  (20,000 tuition down the drainpipe of broken dreams).

I have many rules for them thumbs.  Do NOT overuse them when you can use another tool to do the job.  Use the elbows, use the forearms, use them very judiciously.   Blown out thumbs have ended many a massage career.

Sharonna, does that mean that the thumbs are the principally-used digits in giving a massage?

No, but I've always done a lot of work with my hands from the years when I was in a clerical job to remodeling houses, doing much of the work myself.  I sew and I play piano.  It's like my hands were always busy.  I just wore them out, just like my knees.  Now they are all fixed.  Very blessed!

I keep the nail much shorter on the right and the left gets a longer nail. Longer nails get in the way and I'm right handed, but longer nails also have a good purpose like for stabbing, picking at things, and scratching an itch.
