If you allowed someone to tell a white lie that involved you, and it later morphed into a monster, would you correct it or let it stand?

As long as it was a white monster, I'd let it stand.

Correct it a.s.a.p with full explanation.
The sooner honesty is freely offered, the sooner trust can return.

I probably wouldn't tolerate the white one. 

I've had that happen to me.  Initially, I let it go because I didn't have the time nor the interest.  BUT, it wound up escalating and I was being confronted by a lot of people.  So, I nipped it.  I invited the person to meet me at a bar, then invited two of the most vocal people who questioned me, and laid it all on the table with the guy.  I forced him to admit that he was lying.  Never saw him again after that.  He moved away. lol.  Moron. 

The longer you wait to correct it the less believable you appear when trying to correct it.
