  • "No" ... sometimes comedians employ "artistic license" to perform to a select crowd. There's also the "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me" viewpoint to consider. As time marches on, more and more is done that would have never been allowed decades ago.

    This gentleman was kicked-off of television (The Dave Allen Show), for a time, for going beyond the accepted limits.

    I enjoyed Dave Allen. Took the p!ss out of Ian Paisley, something that more comics should have done and more often.

    It can be, but you have to pick your audience.

    The Brits used to get away with racial stereotypes in their sitcoms in the 1970s, stuff they'd be crucified for if they tried it today. Nonetheless, Mind Your Language and Love Thy Neighbour were sidesplitting.
