  • That one portion of the tax bill made it all worth while. With the mandate gone, it is effectively dismantled

Great!!  The best thing is there is no "replacement."  American doesn't need the government in the medical insurance and health care business.  Obamacare hijacked two industries and ruined what was good about our health care situation.  I agreed, and still believe, that Medicaid should be expanded to provide insurance coverage to people with premiums based on income up to a certain income level, somewhere around $75,000 for a married couple with children.  There were many people who weren't really poor or low income but still couldn't afford health insurance if their employers didn't provide an affordable path to it.  Those are the people who needed, and probably still will, need a fall-back government plan.  Medicaid is there, fully functional...why not make it available for affordable premiums.  That is ALL that the government needed to do.  Obamacare was never supposed to succeed.  It was supposed to control and take the country to a place where it would beg for a health system like the UK or Canada. If you just look at questions on the master question page you will not see her stuff.  Just click on the Questions link near the top of the page.  Don't click on one of the pull down sub topics; just click the Questions link.  This is all I do anyway because I want to see every question and see them in the order they are posted.  You will not miss a single one except for the ones that goes to Rosie's house.

I coulnt get any insurance because of Obama Care. In fact, just because I made NO money at all, the cheapest policy I could get was 850 dollars a month. WIth what money? Im a housewife, I dont get paid. They still sent me a bill for 700 a year because I didnt have insurance though. Couldnt pay that either. Im glad that nightmare is over with. ;+

Didnt it though? A lot of the things he did felt very illegal, or downright should have been. Like cutting off funds to NASA. I hated when that happened.

NASA I like but cutting off funds to it, although unpopular to generations growing up on "Star Wars" I would not consider illegal. NASA may be responsible for lies and deceptions. I'm still looking into accusations.

Did your state exspand Medicaid? If not, you were not required to pay the fine. You should be able to file an amended return and get that back.

No they won't. They'll just muddle along as they always have, getting up every day and going to school or work. Don't be so melodramatic.

You don't wish to live in the US? I don't know why - we have the most freedom and highest standard of living anywhere. But if you wish to leave, go ahead. Don't let the door hit ya where nature split ya!

That door ain't hitting my ass, because I'm nowhere near it, it's on the wrong side of the Pacific. I've never lived in the US and never wanted to, Australia is called "The Lucky Country" for a reason.
Incidentally ALL Western nations (except the US) have some form on nationalized health care. Every single one,  including Australia, the UK and Germany, all of whom currently have Conservative governments in power.
You Seppos (Septic Tank = Yank) have the freedom to kill each other - it's called the Second Amendment. Every time you turn on the TV there's another news flash about an horrific massacre. Now the vics who survive the initial attack will have to mortgage their children in order to afford to have the bullets removed.
We Aussies tightened gun controls in 1996. No massacres in 21 years. Coincidence? I'll take our freedoms over yours any day of the week and twice on Sundays. You're welcome to visit - but leave your cannons at home.
Highest standard of living, dreck - obviously you've never visited Detroit. Flint. Harlem. The non-touristy parts of New Orleans. The slums of Chicago under the El. Anywhere in LA that isn't Hollywood - if the hoods don't get you, the monoxide will. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at December 21, 2017 3:21 PM MST
