All you need is a $30 broadcast antennae. Fox is a broadcast channel....it's free. You don't have to have paid TV service. I use such an antennae and get 20 channels. About half of them I have no interest in but still, you may pick up more than I do. It's no rabbit ears....it's a flat panel about one foot square that you can place where it brings in the best reception.
One more thing.....I would not use the "stick it anywhere" thing because during the course of a year you'll have to adjust it a couple of times. I stuck it to a window and thought I would never get it off. I would hate myself had I put it on a wall and messed up the paint. I now have it leaning against the window pain behind the blinds and that's perfect. My neighbors didn't know what it was and it took them about a year to ask. I still laugh about that.

Honest, I am not being snarky. I have a perfect set-up that I pretty much only paid about $15 for.
You may find something that screws into the back of your tv and you may only have to buy that one program and not pay all that much.
Good luck
I have Roku. It works pretty good for me. It can get expensive if you buy everything you want, but you choose what you want you have control, plus a lot of it is free. I'm sure none of the X-Files would be free.
