With any question asked, there could be a number of great answers. Why is that then that we can only give one answer an Asker's Pick?

I discovered this when I gave one person an Asker's Pick then decided another answer was equally great.  When I gave the second answer an AP, the first one disappeared. 

PS - I still think your answer deserved it, Thriftymaid, regardless if it was removed.

    Because it is asker's pick not asker's picks. It is actually a  fairly new option available.

    P-Child, you can pick more than one and have them all show as Asker's Pick at the same time?    I don't believe so.  If you select one post as your pick and then select a different one, the second becomes the pick and the first one loses that designation.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  (As if I even needed to type those last seven words, LOL.)

      That was one of my peeves with AnswerBag: best means best. It didn't make sense to me that a person could select more than one question as Asker's Pick. If, however, the website allowed for some type of rating system, such as Asker's Choice of Top Five Replies, maybe. 

      I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one, Lone Ranger.

    LMAO When I saw this, my first thought was "Where is Randy D when you need him?" However, he didn't answer how I expected him to, so he's no good at all. :p 

    It's "Asker's Pick," not "Asker's Picks." That's why. Also, Randy's answer is why, but it's not the answer he was supposed to give, so he gets five demerits.

    Being that I'm a big supporter of positive reinforcement, I have another idea.  Why not take the pressure off the questioner?
    Reword Asker's Pick to "Great Answer!" 
    Or... you could take it out all together.  If the person asking is beaming about one or more answers, they can write them in a comment.
    This way others who might not be so informed in an answer but gave it their best shot wouldn't feel badly and the person who was more knowledgeable or funny would still get rewarded.

    Hi JA~ Indeed, the "like" button is for just that; however, you can "like" an answer or appreciate an answer with the general "like."  Shoot, I "Like" a lot of answers, sometimes on questions I don't even have any input on.  
    I do get the absolute of the Asker's Pick intention.  Best is singular.  I also like the recognition when it comes my way.  What I am suggesting is more of a not-so-absolute idea. 
    It's neither here nor there.  I do know I like both giving and receiving but also feel for the underdogs.
