I hurt

my dad passed away several days ago

as far as I know, only two people on the site knew

i'm rather out of it

this song "It All Came Back Today" by Tanita Tikaram is soothing my soul as I type; I love this song -- don't even know what's it's about after all these years but I still love it; and I love Tanita Tikaram

may I share the song?

Aww hon, that is a beautiful song.  Let it soothe your soul and close your eyes for just a minute...and feel my hug through the ether as I listen with you, my friend.

Thank you, Bozette, thank you. The song is set on "repeat" and it hasn't stopped for over 40 minutes.
    :)

And it's funny -- you are one of the two whom I knew knew about my dad already.

Sometimes I do that with a song, too.  I really like this song...I'm missing my Dad, too, even though it's been 10 years, I miss him a lot.  What say we listen and miss them together for a bit?  I start the song again, now...

    And it starts again . . .

    Thanks, Bozette

Cry and feel a release and know your dad is in a better place.  I know that sounds so fake, but it happens to be true.  We leave the baggage of the physical behind, I think.   We are free thought and we are not hindered by pain or fear or worry.   Time ceases to exist the way we tell time, but it is there for a different measure and for different reasons and challenges.

Your dad is in a great place and he knows what a great son loved him this much to honor him in this way, Welb.

On a lighter note, just for a second, I wanted to share this tid bit about Guy Pearce to cheer you up maybe for a second.  Guy Pearce is dating one of the chief actresses on the Game Of Thrones Show.   Melissandra.  She is Dutch and very beautiful.

My most sincere condolences.  One day, when the grief subsides, I hope you only remember the very best memories you shared.

Welby, I've always envied people who have such a strong and positive relationship with their parent(s) that to lose them is a deeply moving emotion in them.  I'm forever joking around and kidding around here, but this time I'm serious when I extend to you my condolences and wish your heart a loving recovery from the pain you're going through.

    Thank you, Randy D!
I'm unsure about what kind of relationship my dad and I had but there was definitely love. Definitely.

The fact that A) you mentioned his passing with such emotion, and B) you have a father to love, to care about, to mention, to have had a relationship with all speaks volumes to me. The person who impregnated my mother causing my conception is someone completely unknown to me. As far as I know, his involvement in her life may have lasted only long enough to do that, but I do know that I have never had one moment with him. To go decades without a father is currently part of my reality, to have been a young child without a father is hell.

Wherher Whether your relationship with him is good or bad, I'm impressed that you had a father to remember, to feel for, to mourn his loss. If mine died today (or has already died), I wouldn't even know, but much worse, I wouldn't feel what you're feeling now. I don't know how to.

    Oh, my, Randy D.
I think of you deeply. I'm sorry you're acquainted with hell. Thank you for sharing this with me, though.

-- I do know my dad would have loved you the moment he saw you -- he considered every person he met in the the world as his friend. And he loved anyone with a sweet sense of humor! You got that down for sure!

That's gotta be hard Randy D. My mom left when I was 8. Until I was 12 I didn't know if she was even alive. When I was 14 I moved in with her and my stepdad. Although I lived with my birth dad, he was always working, bowling, playing softball, playing golf and womanizing. I was a skinny dirty latch key kid until I moved in with my mom and stepdad. I now take comfort in the Christian Congregation where I have been provided with a family that chooses to be with me and love me.

(Psalm 27:10) Even if my own father and mother abandon me, Jehovah himself will take me in.
(Mark 10:29, 30) Jesus said: “Truly I say to you, no one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get 100 times more now in this period of time—houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields, with persecutions—and in the coming system of things, everlasting life.

    A difficult time indeed.

Grieve at your own pace and in your own way.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.
