Here's the backstory of the spate of questions about black and white. This morning I used the term BIG WHITE HUNTER and someone called me on the use of the word WHITE as bringing race in to a place where it wasn't necessary. I was talking about the stuffed heads displayed on walls to brag about by BIG WHITE HUNTERS. Now I have never heard of BIG BLACK HUNTERS. If I had I would have used that too. So of course that's all I needed to go on a riffy tangent about the use of WHITE. SIGH. I don't know how many questions I asked but my brain was flooded with them. Folks get all irate about the use of WHITE and do not give a rat's a** about "SH**HOLE". Go figger! Thank you for your reply Bozette. :)
Wearing black for mourning came from the Roman Empire but it's not universal. In China and the Mid-East people usually wear white for mourning. It's yellow in Egypt, blue in Korea, purple in Thailand and gray in Papua New Guinea.
