Normally they are not my first choice however I do have a plan for my S/O and I to spend a night in New York City all cozy and airy thang, looking at the lights of the city from high up while sitting by a fireplace.

Living in Brooklyn 4 blocks from a major hospital, I have no choice but to take comfort - with the help of foam earplugs I put in my ears at night.

Our city is boring and the only sounds to hear are gunshots in the north end. fortunately I live in the south end.

    I hate city noise.
Give me the old whip-poor-will any night.

  • "The usual city sounds that you're talking about ... I find bothersome."

But I don't live in the "usual" city.  My city is only 1.5 mi. sq.
and the only time there are any noises are on the weekend
and even then ... the noises aren't the "usual" city noises.

Not much of a city, is it?

  • It's actually referred to as a unincorporated seaside community and census-designated place (CDP).
It's only thirteen miles from Los Angeles ... but I can't think of one reason why I'd want to go there!

  • I'm just not used to them.
    When I stay at a hotel in a city I can't sleep.
I hear people in the hall or sirens outside and my mind starts to imagine things.
Sirens are weird to me because they usually always mean something bad.
