Is working for what you want and begging for what you need like logging in overtime for new shoes but asking the boss for a raise to pay the

rent?

    Huh? I don't follow any of these questions. 

    With that said, shoes are kind of a necessity. If you don't have a decent pair for work or general life, it kind of makes sense to buy a pair... I'd put it up there with rent. You can't go to work barefoot or with your toes sticking out of your shoes because they have holes in them. I don't think you should ask your boss for a raise based on your needs, however, unless you're being paid significantly less than someone in your position usually gets.

    Not that this really makes sense to me but I have never asked for a pay raise though have always received them.   And where I work now we don't log in. And I have done over the years very little "begging" for anything.
