How calamitous if the US stockmarket dropped to 20,000, then 15,000 then 10,000? Would world panic set in and afflict all stockmarkets?

    Happened in 2008, and the effect was global - hence "Global Financial Crisis" or GFC. The Dow bottomed out in the mid-6000s.
    That's not likely to happen this time, there hasn't been a major event like the sub-prime bubble bursting to trigger it. This is just a correction, as happened in '87.
