Sometimes when I'm walking my dog, she would stop to pull sandspurs out of my shoes. I guess because I would stop to pull them out of her little paws when I notice her limping. Those things hurt, but I don't think she realizes I can't feel them when they're on my shoes. Still a nice gesture.

There are so many different times with different animals and for different reasons, it would be hard to list them all.  You can just say, they have all helped me every day in their own amazing ways :) :)

There's a neighborhood dog here where I am staying that's always glad to see me.  She usually brings me a stick.  She doesn't chase them.  I think she thinks humans just like throwing sticks for no good reason.

My cocker used to tell me where the rabbits were - without scaring them off.

Ran away. Then I wasn’t stuck feeding, cleaning up after and making excuses for one amazingly stupid dog.

My FIL had a dog that defended a 4 yr old from a snake. The dog got inbetween the girl and the snake and barked to get a persons attention to get help.

Any dog worth feeding would have killed the snake.
