One of the first impressions that people have when arriving in a place like Vietnam is the heat.

Are people who are born and raised in the tropics equally shocked by the weather of the opposite extreme when they first arrive in cold climates?

    I would assume so.  Our bodies have an amazing ability to acclimate to any given climate change.  It may take a few moments, but in time, we adjust.
