I reckon everybody has their own priorities. For me, putting country first is a hard sell. In my life God is always put first, family second, and country third. To put Trump first has never been an option for me. :)

I'm loyal to America as a whole. It's just not on the top of my loyalty priority list.

No. Wait.  Trump is putting country first.  He is giving us all a big gift that we get to pay for like the wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.

This gift is a parade of weaponry to be "paraded" in front of the world to make everyone who gives a crap about war heads, draw an intake of breath while thinking how powerful Don is.

The truth?  Everyone is already laughing out loud and in disgust.  He saw France's parade, now he has to have one too. Bigger and better.

No one in the armed forces wants something like this.  No one thinks it is cool to show off weapons of death as a celebration for how powerful we are.  Does he have anything in his brain that is not sociopathic?

No one wants this parade but him.  But the bobbleheads, Ryan and Pence are nodding and clapping like it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I've been out of the loop, news-wise. Now I know where your parade question came from. I still know nothing about any parade which President Trump wants - - I can maybe guess he wants a big parade to show off our military's strength and parade many of our weapons for everyone to gaze upon? I hope I'm wrong.

Precisely.  Game of Thrones has a character in it that says "if you want to know what your enemy is up to and you want to be ready, just think of the worst possible thing he could do and the worst outcome and prepare yourself for it".

Well, that is Trump.  You were right.  That is his motive.

I totally understand.  It is really disgraceful and he is using the taxpayer's money to pay for this travesty.

New legislation would effectively block President Trump from staging a military parade after the idea of tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Ave. drew comparisons to North Korea and the Soviet Union.

The "Preparedness Before Parades Act," introduced Thursday by Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., would create rules that make such parades nearly impossible.

“I have severe concerns about the cost, diversion of resources, and effect on readiness of a large-scale parade seemingly conceived only to please the whims of the president,” Schneider said in a statement.

Under the bill, a “large-scale military parade” would require approval from the defense secretary and the municipal government where the event is planned. It could only proceed only if the Executive Office of the President paid at least 50 percent of parade costs.

The mayor and city council members in the District of Columbia reacted with hostility to the reported parade plans and would emerge as a significant roadblock.

The Executive Office of the President does have an annual budget of about $700 million, but much of that is allocated to specific sub-offices such as the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The White House itself has an annual budget of about $58 million, lacking significant wiggle room to finance a parade estimated to cost millions of dollars. A 1991 military parade celebrating victory in the Gulf War cost about $12 million.

Under the bill, the defense secretary would have to certify that “the parade will have no effect on the military readiness or budgetary needs of the Armed Forces,” that “the diversion of personnel and equipment associated with the parade will have no effect on the military readiness of the Armed Forces,” and that “the financial costs associated with the parade will have no effect" on military readiness.

Schneider introduced his bill without original co-sponsors, but there's broad bipartisan opposition to a military parade.

"I don't believe we should have tanks or nuclear weapons going down Pennsylvania Avenue,” Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., scoffed in a Tuesday television interview.

“I think confidence is silent and insecurity is loud,” said Sen. John Kennedy, R-La.

Robert O’Neill, the politically conservative former Navy SEAL who claims to have killed Osama bin Laden, said Thursday: “A military parade is third world bullshit.”

The Washington Post reported Tuesday Trump recently gave military leaders including Defense Secretary James Mattis orders to plan “a parade like the one in France” on Bastille Day. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Wednesday the parade planning currently was in “a brainstorming session.”

Anti-war organizers vowed Tiananmen Square-style resistance, with activist Arn Menconi collecting the names of volunteers to lay in front of tanks. D.C. Councilman David Grosso, a political independent, said he would organize a large anti-war march if Trump proceeded with a parade.

“This could be the golden opportunity to build a broad-based, energized peace movement,” longtime Code Pink organizer Medea Benjamin told the Washington Examiner.

“If it goes ahead, I think there will be massive protests of all kinds – rallies, civil disobedience, smaller affinity groups doing creative counter parades, clowns, dancing ‘soldiers’ with brass bands, contingents of healthcare workers, teachers,” she said. “I envision a potpourri of actions, with LOTS of people involved.”

Doofus don doesn't have an authentic creative idea in his entire brain. He is a copycat reactor. He wants America to mimic North Korea, China and Russia. His military school experience makes him want so desperately to play with his human soldiers and move them around at will. He is already a object of derision worldwide and everything he does/says exacerbates it. If the Military complies and we spend millions on this pathetically desperate attempt to brag about our mighty strength shame on them! SIGH. Whatta guy! Thank you for your reply Sharon and the graphic! Meanwhile the stockmarket tanked again yesterday dropping another 1000 points. Thanks to doofus don, right? I mean he gets the credit for the rise so he gets the credit for the demise! Only fair. What goes up has gotta come down. Gravity is inescapable don'tcha know?  :(

You are right.  He knows how to be a predator.  He stalks.  When he sees something he wants, he copies it and apes the idea and pretends he is the originator.

When he sees something he wants, he tries to grab it without any idea of how to assume the role.  Like The President.

I saw a video where his ex-producers on The Apprentice stated that he was made out as a Billionaire.  He made people always announce the fact that he was a billionaire.  They said they think he has less than a billion.  Not several billion.  So, there is that.  But they wanted everyone to understand that he was acting, he was a fake boss and he was playing a reality game.

Yes, money and stuff were involved, but he was not some Billionaire Genius by any stretch of the imagination.  He knew how to draw ratings by being outrageous.  That is all he knows how to do.  And scare people who are not loyal.  And be a huge ass.

T'is extremely puzzling to me why anyone would find that piece of trash attractive/appealing/admirable. Maybe those folks were always there somewhere and had no chance to "come out of the closet" until doofus stepped up and ran for prez. They saw in him an advocate for racism, bigotry and pompous assyness along with misogyny.   The misgyny he engaged in his entire life is still alive and well. Did you happen to see his comments about Rob Porter two-time wifebeater?  Doofus said nothing about the women he bused. Not one word of sympathy or condolence. Not one. He fell all over himself saying what an excellent job wifebeater did and how he wished him well and that he would do well in whatever job/profession he would have yadayadayadayadayada . Kelly knew all about it too as did the lawyer Don McGahn. They found out when the wifebeater couldn't get a security clearance so they ignored it and let him continue in that job assuming no one would know. They are all misogynysts and liars and coveruppers and scum. More to come. SIGH. Thank you for your reply Sharon and Happy Saturday! :)
