Are capable people who don't live to learn at all mostly despicable people?

    No don't know why you would think that.  Fist of all to live is to learn.  Secondly some of us are better learners than others - more interested in learning, absorb more.  Third some people may be happy with what they know.  Better for us to look for ways to connect with people than ways to despise them.

    I define despicable as something outwardly and intently wrong, evil or corrupt. Pedophiles are despicable. 

    People who choose to close their minds do so for any number of reasons. This doesn’t mean they are, nor does it exclude them from being, despicable. Let’s call them “settled”.
    We should be conscious of painting humans with too wide a brush.

    Not sure what you mean.  I think it's foolish to not want to keep educating yourself as you go through life.  I wouldn't classify someone that chooses not to as "despicable".
