You know?? G1! But I see, alas, I am not the entrepreneur of new knowledge because I have indeed found a book that is named To Observe The Obverse! Just figures.
I think looking at things from as many angles as possible, including the obverse, is usually very helpful.
Consider politics. I can almost hear the groan. Let's say I'm a liberal (actually I'm a Green.) If I'm an elected representative and sitting in opposition to the government, I may still have a chance of either blocking or negotiating for amendments to proposed legislation. If I have a thorough understanding of my opponents' goals, values, and motives, I stand a far better chance of being able to propose workable solutions that may be acceptable to the conservatives. If I do this, I'm doing my best to represent my constituents and doing a better job of working within the framework of democracy. If I don't examine the issues thoroughly from all angles, I strangle my ability to achieve anything.
