A children's plastic toy gun that fires nearly harmless foam projectiles Rosie.....but even those can damage eyes if they have grit or cleaning chemicals on them from whereever they've been laying ..... :(
Hi honey. I asked this question because I read that bullets from an AR 15 tear the flesh apart and do CATASTROPHIC damage to a body. So I guess that's why only crazy people like them and use them. You know when my son was a kid I never bought him a toy gun. I think it is an appalling thing to do. I'm gonna take a vote and see what other parents think about it. I'm probably gonna get smacked but who cares? Thank you for your reply D and Happy Saturday to thee! :) ((hugs))

Governments give munitions manufactures billions to design bullets to do as much damaged as possible to other humans Rosie..... My dad had a friend that collected ammunition as a hobby....he wrote books about them and advised the police about them ....He's dead now but was ever so interesting to talk to....he was also a camera man that traveled the world...
They do? Well of course that changes everything. I know money always wins every battle people being the greedy bas**rds they are. Thank you for your reply D. Imagine collecting ammunition the way some people collect stamps or teacups or baseball cards. SIGH.
It was more an historic thing with him Rosie.....so much of the ammunition could ever be fired safely....one round could cost thousands to buy now....gunpowder goes back hundreds of years......
Certain types of guns are there to save lives also....explosives also helped to progress the world in so many ways to.....not all things that go bang are made fir killing either....lol
Oh. Okey dokey! We have a TV program in the states that is called Antiques Roadshow which I'm pretty sure was stolen from you Brits. Anyway I watch it all the time and some of the really old guns are drop-dead beautiful. They are works of art. They usually can't fire but that isn't why a collector would want them. Some are etched with beautiful pictures. Other have ivory and precious metals incorporated in the design. I can understand that D. The beauty is a thing apart from what the guns were used for once upon a time. Some of them can command huge amounts of money too..like in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range. Especially those that might have belonged to historically important figures. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)
Planing and making decisions to be wounded by a gun is like planing and making decisions on jumping off a bridge. What kind of bridge would you prefer? What structure is the friendliest, kindest?
It is a very bad analogy. When you jump you go splatt on the ground. When you are shot if you don't die instantly there will be a period of experiencing pain and having been shattered and torn apart by an AR 15 probably wouldn't be YOUR choice. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday.

One? So it could pierce your skin and hit your heart? And you would choose it? Because the odds of your being killed would be less even though the pain might be great? I just got an idea for a question m2c. You will know it when you see . Thank you for your reply.

I choose it because that is the most benign of a gun without going with a simple toy that is not really a gun. Yes, one can kill. Not likely but possible.
On a Navy base where I was stationed, a teenage babysitter was shot in the head with a BB by the kid she was watching. She thought nothing of it but the BB worked itself into her brain and she died about a month later.
An armour pircing bullet because it would go threw me and only make a small neat hole - not good if it hit me in the heart but most other places it would'nt be too bad. Cheers and happy weekend!
