The only fish I know of that produces a profound sound is the Jewfish. But it is always possible the creature can be tuned, made to produce a different note, perhaps by firmly grasping a male of the species by the goolies, or by hugging the creature to ones person - it would take a strong stomach though - they are among the ugliest of fish. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to do such a foolhardy thing because the fish can be quite massive, and sometimes they behave aggressively towards humans, not to mention showing an equal readiness to launch unprovoked attacks on octopi, barracuda, and even sizeable rays and sharks.

Sheesh...why does everyone pick on us Jews? (JK) The fresh and saltwater Drum also make a sound. The Jewfish is now officially named Giant Atlantic Grouper. Hey...they don't consider each other ugly. You want to see an ugly fish...Google image a Stonefish.

I cannot tell if you are intensely racist or a great biologist.  Jewfish?

    Okay.  I'll bite.

Nope, I'll have to go with racist since this fish is not ugly at all by any stretch of the imagination.  Now that Black Dragonfish I posted is way uglier than this Jewish fish.
