I love the real catfish in beer batter deep fried.
I don't like the ones who post on line trying to be someone they are not.

I love the battered ones too. I don't know what you are referring to on the others. I hope I am not one of them. I yam what I yam.

I have to start sticking to biblical law and not eat bottom feeders. Goodbye tasty shrimp, goodbye bacon, goodbye lobster and for the salvation of my soul goodbye to it all :(

Mk 7:18. Unless you're Jewish, forget the Mosaic ordinances. Do you wear clothes of differing fibers? Polyester/cotton mix will get you stoned to death according to Levitical Law.

Just where does the Bible say to stone anyone wearing linen and wool?

    Lev 19:19
    Deut 22:9-11

Breaking Mosaic Law was a capital crime. Stoning was the usual method of execution for heretics.

Nope. Not all sins were a stoning offense. So try again.

Wearing of shatnez in public was considered a desecration of the name of YHWH in certain circumstances. Blasphemy was most certainly a capital offense, it's why Yeshua was crucified. They did it that way rather than by stoning in order to further denigrate Him - "cursed is the man hanged from a pole" (Deut 21:22).

Food laws are about your physical health not your soul health.

I think God is fine with you just trying to be a good person.

I hate 'bullhead' catfish. Catfish are bottom feeders, they eat whatever crap is on the bottom of a lake or stream. That's gross. Most stores sell farm-raised catfish, so they are fed by the farmers rather than bottom feeding. I eat farm-raised catfish if I can get someone to deep fry it.

We catch some nice ones in the river and either toss them back or give them away. I won't eat them.

No thanks.  People love it back home, but I do not eat catfish.  They are too ugly.

  • While the catfish is ugly in appearance and has some bad habits, I find that I must defend this tasty fish as he makes the transition from fried to stewed very readily in anyone's recipe book. This lowly character is a treat anyway you fix him.

In the northeast we call them horned pout.  I have eaten them and they are good but I don't prepare them.

I would rather cook it than eat it. Dirty bottom dwellers.
