When filming movies or TV shows about the military, what do they always get wrong?

The TV show 'The Last Ship' had some glaring errors.

    Several things:

    The way a person dies is usually not remotely accurate.

    The way a person dies takes time.   They don't have TIME in the movies.  People die rather quickly, not slowly and agonizingly boringly slow with no final exclamations of the plot ending.  ?

    How orders are issued are usually very OFFICIAL and BRAVE looking, when in actuality the orders were passed down from a higher-up.  Who oftentimes doesn't have a clue as to what is happening on the ground.  ?

    I'm just throwing things out there, guessing.  I have no clue.  Enlighten me.

    I know there can be a lot of drinking and drugging.   Does that count?

    Little things that only a military person would notice. My pet peeve is the number of ribbons worn on the chests of lower grade enlisted and officers, even those not in combat situations. In twenty years of Naval service I earned 7 awards. Five ribbons with stars for additional same awards. Another was on the TV show 'The Last Ship.' It's a small ship traveling the world during a world-wide epidemic. During combat missions it appears much of the crew has combat training and supplies of seal-team weaponry. A REALNavy frigate would not have combat ready troops and sophisticated armaments. The are a number of other inaccuracies, but I don't want to bore you.

    They use the correct insignia, but sometimes placed incorrectly on the collars.

    So they get one thing half right. Pathetic! 

    This discussion got me thinking about that STOOPID show "Army Wives". I tried to watch it once. Talk about ridiculously inaccurate!

    In the old TV shows/movies ... if someone was shot, they collapsed right there.  Now, they get blown halfway across a room.  LOL

    I have noticed that. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, meaning the force on the shooter is equal to the force on the shootee. But the shootee goes flying and the shooter stands like a prophet.

    1.  They don't use question marks at the end of questions. Oh, wait.  This is about the movies and TV, not about your post. I digress. 

      All uniforms and equipment are always brand spanking new.
      Insubordination is tolerated as long as the lead actor is a smart alecky bigmouth and it's written into the script. 
      The white guy always wins.
      Every person on screen knows how to operate any and every weapon or weapons system.
      Everyone speaks English.
      Weapons don't run out of ammo and vehicles/aircraft don't run out of fuel.
      The enemy is always incompetent.
      The good guy has time to make a speech or utter a few last words before dying, while bad guys die wordlessly.
      Explosives and explosions merely annoy the good guys.
