One day the Earth will not be able to sustain it's population. Is it of the essence that we succeed in colonizing space?

I've seen hundreds of acres of farmland just in my area alone become houses in recent years.  The population continues to grow.  One day there will not be enough crop/livestock/room/whatever to sustain humanity.

The Elites are implementing population reduction by all means necessary. This post was edited by O-uknow at March 18, 2018 5:54 PM MDT

And there coming at us from all directions. Hiding in plane view, compartmentalized addenda to reduce the population to around 5 million people.

I understand they are experimenting with vertical farming which would alleviate the need for using so much space to grow crops.  Whether they would be able to grow enough food to sustain the inhabitants is a different questions.  It also doesn't take into account the room needed to raise sheep and cattle.

They could utilize small lightweight  forklifts in spaceships if they wanted to !

We will be decimated by polution and plastic waste long before we conquer the vast distances out there in space....not to mention the effects of weightlessness on the human Skelton and muscles....:(

Out in space for too long you can't come back. Interesting movie I mean to see is "The Space Between Us". About a boy born on Mars who if he returned to Earth his heart would fail him or some other medical reason. This post was edited by O-uknow at March 18, 2018 6:07 PM MDT

...of the essence... to whom? We’ll all be dead.
It is unlikely that sustainable space travel will occur in time or in sufficient measure to prevent our extinction, whether by our own actions or the effect(s) of some natural catastrophe. That serious people are even discussing this idea in public forums is admission enough that we are incapable of sustaining ourselves, even given the best of circumstances.

Survivability on earth is in more immediate peril than most people admit, yet those sounding the alarm are written off as tree huggers, liberals, or anti-business; as if any of that matters. More sadly, the manifest indifference (read: ignorant agenda of denial) of those in power only serves to block the path of effectively addressing our increasingly dire future.

Bullsnot. "Overpopulation" is a code word for "I wanna kill something!" The entire world population could live in Texas with the same density as New York City, 1200 square feet per person. And all the rest of the world left for farms.
