It's crazy - - I hear Patsy Cline sing and my world stops and I must listen. Is it just me?

:)
She's my favorite singer.
This is my favorite song of hers - "She's Got You."
Her voice melts me every time.

  • Nobody in this world could sing a torch song like her. I've been a fan all my life. When Patsy belted out one of those ballads of angst and heartbreak, it was cry in your beer time. There'll never be another quite like her.

  • In a music genre where a good voice was probably never a real requirement,
she brought one that put her head and shoulders above her piers.

Patsy Cline - "Sweet Dreams of You"

I don't know if I have a favorite Patsy Cline song, but this is right up there for me:

    I don't think there is a single Cline song I don't like!

Yes, this a great one, too!

I have no memories of her as she only lived until I was about five years old.  Seems to have had a good voice but all the movies and documentaries about how bad her life was really put me off listening to her songs.

In my 20's I remember the first time I heard her sing --  she was singing on TV (an ad for the "Sweet Dreams" movie about her) -- I was literally in the bathroom and ran out as fast as I could, thinking, "Who IS this singer? She is phenomenal!"
    :)

I saw the movie and have read bits and pieces of her life --  I need to do it again -- you're right --  I think her life was difficult.

Too bad, so sad. Her singing voice you don't hear often. There was a richness and maturity about it. Strong :)
