She is still a child in my eyes.  Cut her a break.  You don't have to agree with the general agenda which is what I think you really want to speak against.  I respect your right to your opinions.  I just cringe when young people are rolled over like this.  I really wonder if you would be so critical if a young voice was speaking out with your beliefs?  Just putting that out there.

Anyone taking on the young risks looking like a bully imho.  I rather you go after grown adults.  These kids are genuine in what they feel and we know that young people put a lot of weight on their feelings.  Quite frankly, I like seeing young people find their voice, whether I agree with their agenda or not.  Sure beats a generation that doesn't care at all about anything around them.

shes almost an adult...old enough to be out there acting hateful...old enough to speak my mind about...I didn't personally attack her...I commented on what she said....and how she says it...if she were 45 and speaking like she does...id say the same thing. People shouldn't back off and give in because its a teen pushing the agenda. the shooter was about the same age as her wasn't he? should we cut him a break? is he also not old enough to know what he was doing? She didn't commit murder.  I stand by encouraging teens to protest with words.  Sure beats them shooting up schools to express themselves.

I know.  I don't understand the rage at kids that have been personally touched by violence.  I think it's wonderful these kids are being proactive in coping with a very scary time in their life.  I cannot imagine the anxiety many have.  They aren't turning to drugs or violence themselves.  They are asking for legislative change that can make a huge difference.

Shame on anyone that is so stuck on their alt right views that they lash at teenagers raising their voices.

I wonder if they rage at the kids that yell and scream at prolife rallies?  I seen a few of those and they are not nice. This post was edited by PeaPod is just popping by at March 31, 2018 7:14 PM MDT

who said she commited murder? she said it was ok to bully people...not in those words...but that's what she said....and that she bullied this particular kid... Did you forget the fact that this whole deal could have been avoided? Fbi was warned about this unstable kid...They did nothing....police basically stood outside while the shooter was active....doing nothing. One eyewitness says the shooter was in full tactical gear,,,,she thought it was police..maybe police didn't stand around and do nothing..at least one other witness heard shots coming from another part of the building, where shooter wasn't...weird...but possibly more than one shooter...and we want to blame guns? not bulling unstable kids....not police...not fbi...not the person who chose to shoot up the school....but the gun? You kow how many people own those guns? Don't you think if that was the purpose of those guns....a lot more people would be dead? Its an unstable kid, possibly bullied to the point of falling off the edge...who made a wrong decision...had police went in and stopped him..that many wouldn't have died...and if fbi hadn't dropped the ball, none probably would have died. but go ahead and push for gun control....that makes sense.Shes not being bullied...but I'm not going to go with everything she says and cut her a break because shes a kid...shes old enough to drive a car, shes old enough to try to push her opinion down peoples throats...shes old enough to be challenged... shes not 5. she wants to act like an adult...she should be treated as such. lets don't distract from all the facts because they have a few kids parroting their talking points. Oh for crying out loud. Of course she is emotional and upset. She just went thru hell and lost 17 of her school friends.
How can anyone not see and understand that?
And I hope you are not comparing her to the shooter.
And what agenda is this teen pushing?

She went through hell. I don't blame her for being visibly upset. Guess it is easier to try to degrade them than to show some empathy!

You know that if the laws were set up to protect the schools there would have been no protest and maybe less shootings for those who want to go in and harm others.
So what are people supposed to do when nothing is done?

Sadly Lulu, some people need to have a tragedy like this strike home to understand the pain and suffering these kids and their families have endured.  I really DON'T understand how if legislation gets passed to deal with these sorts of weapons, how ANYONE'S life will change for the worse.

comparing her to the shooter? no shes just a weapon being used for more gun control... were they her friends? did she know them? I think she went to school with them...and I think shes enjoying the attention. were there no other students in the school besides those 4 or 6? kids have a riht to be protected...not to be put in more danger. you heard about the Maryland shooter? guess why that doesn't get the coverage? the 1 girl that dies there had friends too...probably right in the same room...and they were protected almost as soon as it started....because the shooter died..most likely because he was confronted by another gun.

I remember the 60s. Many many YOUTH AND ADULTS were villified for speaking their mind. You don't want her to speak her mind, right or wrong. You are worried about YOUR 2nd amendment. What about HER 1st amendment? What you are posting is implying young people do not have the right to speak their minds. Many adults, need to LISTEN to what is being said. I remember Columbine, the Aurora Theater shooting and everything since. People shouldn't silence their voices because they don't agree. This IS America, isn't it!??

remember Maryland? it just happened the other day. How'd that end again? how many dead? why? you may not be as familiar with that one...because it doesn't fit the criteria to push gun control...
her first amendment should remain intact...but so should every one elses...people shouldn't be expected to shut up and agree because its a "child " talking. This post was edited by maggie at April 1, 2018 8:47 AM MDT
