What's all the fuss about? Why is the 2nd Amendment the number one target to be repealed? Thing is, all arguments in favor of gun control or against the Second Amendment are pretty much moot, since the amendment itself indicates that the government is in fact prohibited from infringing on this natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right. The government has no authority to alter, modify, amend or repeal the right to keep and bear arms by legislative action, executive order, or judicial review. That pretty much ends that discussion. :)
Then there’s this: the Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15, 1791. And in the 227 years since, there have been only 17 additional amendments, not one of which alters any of the original ten, much less repeals them. Realistically, since these are natural rights, even a successful effort to repeal their Constitutional protection wouldn’t repeal or revoke the right itself, only its Constitutional protection. Also, I've been around firearms all my life and a gun folk most of my life and the thought of taking out or silencing anyone that disagrees with the 2nd Amendment never crossed my mind and I don't know any other gun folks that feel the need to take out or silence anybody either. :)
I welcome his remarks. At least he is honest about his intentions. At least he is trying to do it the right way. He is acknowledging that constitutional changes are necessary to do what the left wishes to do. This makes him far more noble than those would try do it subversively and incrementally in violation of the constitution.
This helps pull the debate into the light and that is the last thing the establishment wants. They know such a repeal would never pass. They would rather keep their subversive creep in shadow.
