I've dealt with both. Gimme the kids every time. Just give them a Popsicle. It worked with my grandkids.

  • A drunk adult. I can talk to adults, even when they're inebriated (even better if I'm also inebriated). But kids have a way of manipulating me...

Kids.  They can be reasoned with quite easily with patience.  They are very much open to learning at age 4.  A really drunk adult is going to do whatever they want and probably has no ability to be reasoned with at that point.

And yes, I too have dealt with both.

Give me the child and an age-appropriate thing of their liking, it's possible we can compromise.

I don’t think either can be reasoned with, but I have an easier time getting a drunk adult to do what needs to be done because I don’t mind lying to one. :o

The kid. A two-year-old can't be reasoned with, but it's not impossible at twice that age. Keep the ideas concrete, the words simple and remember that you're dealing with child logic which isn't quite the same thing as adult logic.
A drunk doesn't have any logic to deal with, their brain has stopped recording.
