Isn't it wonderful? To the left of the complex in picture, do you see what looks like a thin road under water? It is a road. Le Mont St Michel is connected to France's mainland by a road -- and the road gets covered regularly by the tides! So cool! It was intentionally built with that in mind, I believe. So cool to me! :) I fell in love with the place on first sight when I was taking French language classes. This picture was taken when the tides were all in. Maybe I'll try to find a picture of it when the tides are out.

It is beautiful, yes! :) Do you see the thin road under water to the left of the complex? The tides are "in" and cover the road regularly. The Le Mont St Michel was built intentionally, I believe, to be an "island" at times and at other times not. I'll try to find a picture of it with the tides out. :) I fell in love with the place while taking French language classes. Here's where it is on a map of France.
