Around the holidays cops set up areas to check out folks for DUI. What good would it be to tell them WHERE and WHEN they would occur?

Stupid, right? No element of surprise. The drivers just avoid those traps. The cops would go to great expense and would shoot themselves in the foot. Telegraphing intent and providing the timing and location  is something only those who want failure would do. Why do something you want to have fail? Makes no sense to me.

Yeah...it sounds stupid, but the drunks aren't listening to the news.

TOUCHE! It was very stupid dumb for the goofydoofylucy to warn Syria/Russia in advance of the strikes so they could prepare and protect whatever the he** they valued. Which is why I think it was a setup. Phony as a $13 bill! Thank you for your reply Ele and Happy Sunday! :)

If the drunks were made aware of road checks they might take it as a hint that they should not drive at all and find a ride to their destination.

Even if they were secret about it drivers would be flashing their head lights to warn other drivers that there is a road check up the road. Cheers!
