Corruption has connotations of betraying one's duty. It implies that someone has sworn to be true to certain principles but has been false.

Whether a betrayal is good or bad depends on what is being betrayed. Some things deserve to be betrayed. Those who do so are being true to a higher duty.  Many whistleblowers could be considered corrupt in the sense that they are revealing secrets they were duty bound to protect. Our duty to God is above any other promise. Corruption doesn't ring my chimes, float my boat, or ring my bell. It disgusts me, especially when it hurts others. Which is usually does.
