Who is everybody? Children absolutely adore men. Mothers are always there to take care of the kids and be the driver and teacher, etc. But when dad walks in the door, the kids yell with delight. That is a beautiful thing to me. And if that dad doesn't let those children know he is delighted to see them as well, this woman/mother could use an iron skillet for its unintended use.
We are in trouble when parenting becomes a popularity contest. Making a child happy is important, but pales in comparison to protecting the child’s best interests, which children aren’t always mature enough to see for themselves.
Not every mum is a good mum, many aren't and unfortunately the idea that all women are made to give birth and raise kids happily just isn't true. We mask and ignore the fact that many mothers in the past who were forced to stay home and look after kids were bored, unhappy and frustrated and eeek sometimes they took this out on the kids.
