Do you really want to live longer if you have to eat bland, heart-healthy food?

Try fat-free, low salt New England clam chowder some time.  You'll wish you were dead.

    Not especially.

There’s living, and then there is REALLY living.
I’d be happy with less of the former if I am permitted more of the latter.

There is no such thing. You could be tarred and feathered in Boston for even thinking that.

True. We had a dog that loved it and no matter where we put it she found it. We would have to put her in the basement. Our cat is not stupid...she won't go near it.

  • On the more serious note:  When I worked in an hospital in Germany,  I was befriendet with a female administrator who told me that she changed her diet for reasons to feel healthy and live longer. She ate mainly without fat, without eggs . After she had one heart attack, she ate even more bland and she had the second heart attack. After one year she died. In my humble opinion it is best to eat everything to get the best nutritional value. One has to watch the calorie intake -  that's all.

  • https://www.dictionary.com/browse/befriended  - - according to Webster it is a correct English word. But you are right, my German heritage comes probably through in every sentence.    I ate many eggs when eating eggs was almost criminal. I make egg dishes very often and cook those longer sometimes to have them as cold snacks.

I thoroughly agree. Also I read somewhere about somebody testing the "The body knows what it needs" theory, and it seemed to work, Eating 'what they wanted' filled their hunger better than diets and kept them healthy. We know it best in pregnant women who suddenly get weird cravings because now they are building a Baby on the side and need special things.

If you're a Lich, you don't have to worry about eating ... or sleeping ... or breathing.

Pretty much the only thing you have to worry about are pesky adventurers who want your hoard of treasure.
    The greedy bastards.

Eating healthy doesn't mean you have to eat bland.  There are so many other spices that can be substituted for salt and it will still make food taste good. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at April 28, 2018 2:21 PM MDT

  • https://www.curezone.org/foods/salt/vital_functions_of_salt_in_the_b.htm   I use pink fine grained Himalayan Salt with at least 80 trace minerals. Purest nutritional salt on earth. Please google it to learn about the full benefits and where to order it.  I order it too, I want to make it clear, that I am in no way connected to things I recommend or talk about.
