What will stop the erosion of our most cherished middle class values?

This is a trick question. Even when you get people to list their most cherished values, it eventually comes out that the actual most cherished values are something else. For example, when they say education is an item, and you propose home schooling, then oops, the most cherished middle class value is actually free all day baby sitting.
