People had much rather believe a lie. If a lie is told often enough, it becomes the truth. Also, if we play fast and loose with the truth, it loses validity. With all that said, truth is still a powerful force to be reckoned with. "They shall know the truth, and the truth shall make them free.
So it all boils down to being lazy then? I do agree that thinking is hard work. That is why so many folks cede theirs to anyone who will tell them what to think. Just do as you are told. Just say what you are allowed to say. Memorize the script. Never ask questions because that would imply something is questionable. Defend defend defend defend any attack from any source that challenges your beliefs. You know m'dear I have always been aware of the tinfoil brigade. The crazy fringe who live on the edge of reality and see conspiracy everywhere. They believe the earth is flat. There was never a moon landing. The Holocaust never happened. There is no such thing as climate change. BUT finding out that 40-41% of the American people support the inhuman being aka the bogus bonespur prez? That is beyond terrifying/horrifying. That is no longer a fringe.
